The National Live music venue
A reborn historic downtown Richmond, Virginia, music venue, The National Live is celebrating its centennial with a major renovation. Located at 708 E Broad St, Richmond, VA 23219. The theater was closed for several years, but reopened on February 21, 2008 with a 1,500-seat capacity. The renovation, funded in part by Historic Tax Credits, was an incredible success. The building's owners envisioned community collaboration and revitalization, and partnered with Historic Richmond to bring the venue back to life.
In addition to concerts, the Richmond music scene is exploding. From outdoor concerts to historic music venues, Richmond has it all! Visitors can enjoy live music at many venues, including the Byrd Theatre, a beautiful old movie house. Admission to the show is $5, and concessions are equally affordable. The theater is home to two feature films every night and a live organ show by Bob Gulledge. It is a wonderful place to spend a Saturday night with friends or family.
