Windows 10 End of Life: What You Need to Know

As we say goodbye to 2024, it’s a great time to reflect on all we’ve accomplished this year. It’s also the perfect time to ensure we’re prepared for the exciting changes awaiting us in 2025.

One of the biggest transitions on the horizon is the end of support for Windows 10 in October 2025. When that date arrives, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or technical support, leaving devices running Windows 10 vulnerable and outdated.

The Good News : The Windows 11 upgrade is currently free from Microsoft. If your device meets the requirements, you will be prompted to upgrade automatically.

The Bad News : The hardware requirements for Windows 11 are higher, particularly the CPU requirements, and many PC’s in use today are not on the compatibility list. If a PC isn’t compatible with Windows 11, it will need to be replaced before the October deadline.

Preparing for a major transition like this doesn’t have to be overwhelming. If you’re unsure about your hardware’s compatibility or want to confirm your business is ready for Windows 11, now is the time to reach out to your IT partner.
